Cochon 555 Tour Atlanta - REVIEW
The Ash Said It crew was pleased to be invited to the Cochon 555 Tour in Atlanta. I've yet to be disappointed by any event at the Ritz Carlton and this one was no different. Upon checkin, we were greeted with a smorgasbord of delectable treats. Breads, cheeses and jellies OH MY!
This event was created not only to satisfy different taste buds of locals but to educate people on heritage breed pigs. Cochon 555 is a nose-to-tail culinary tour dedicated to supporting family farmers and educating chefs and diners about the agricultural importance of utilizing Old World livestock. Every Cochon 555 event is a site for creative cuisine and beverage experiences.
Endless crowds flooded the ballroom in anticipation of what was to come. The partnership between local farmers and this brand is simply amazing. I spoke with several farmers that look forward to showcasing their product every year.
The theme is 5 chefs cook 5 heritage pigs to benefit a great cause. The benefactor is Piggy Bank. Piggy Bank’s mission is to create a heritage breed pig sanctuary that provides free genetics and business plans to emerging family farms. The sanctuary aims to better the future of our food by creating a community for safer, more enlightened farming practices through the sharing of genetics, livestock, and information. The Piggy Bank Farm, located in Missouri, will be committed to the cause of agricultural transparency, offering all farmers a free online network of knowledge.
My team and I left this affair beyond satisfied and with a few new friends. You never know who you will meet at a Cochon 555 event. Congratulations to everyone involved with this incredible project. It was well executed.
