New initiative for nonprofit organizations tops $89,000 in donations
ATLANTA, GA − October 31, 2017: Atlanta magazine is thrilled to announce Give Atlanta, an opportunity for philanthropic organizations to engage with the community and share their story with local audiences has reached more than $89,000 in donations with two weeks left to give. Atlanta magazine is committed to providing nonprofit organizations with a platform to connect with the most influential and affluent members of the Atlanta community.
Give Atlanta consists of two parts: print and digital. The November issue of Atlanta magazine features a supplement to include editorial coverage, a full-page 4-color display ad, and a full page profile of participating nonprofits. The digital component provides an opportunity for organizations to fundraise. Atlanta magazine has partnered with CrowdRise to host the inaugural Give Atlanta Challenge. The online challenge debuted on October 10 and runs through November 14. Participating local nonprofits have the opportunity to raise funds and compete in the challenge. CrowdRise Challenges are friendly fundraising competitions between charitable organizations and their supporters (and supporters’ friends). The organizations that raise the most win the most prizes. Atlanta magazine is contributing an additional $40,000 to the $89,000 that Give Atlanta has already raised, which will bring the Give Atlanta total to $129,000 so far. “We are very excited that the Give Atlanta Challenge has raised over $89,000 in its first two weeks. Our goal in launching this new initiative was to heighten the awareness of Atlanta area nonprofits and Give Atlanta is doing just that,” says Sean McGinnis, president and publisher of Atlanta magazine. Participating nonprofits include: 100 Black Men of Atlanta, Inc.; A.G. Rhodes Health & Rehab; Atlanta Cancer Care Foundation; Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta; Camp Kudzu, Inc.; Chattahoochee Nature Center; Children of Conservation; Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta; Christian City, Inc.; Furkids Animal Rescue and Shelters; Gateway Center; Georgia Aquarium; Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation; Georgia Public Broadcasting; The Giving Kitchen; Humane Society of Northeast Georgia; KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools; The Nature Conservancy in Georgia; Operation HOPE; Senior Connections, Inc.; Susan G.
