WILD HEAVEN BEER NOW AVAILABLE IN ALABAMA

Meet the Makers During Statewide Tap Takeovers in Birmingham, Huntsville, Montgomery, Auburn and Mobile March 6 - 8, 2018

Avondale Estates, GA (March 2, 2018) - Atlanta-area craft brewery Wild Heaven Beer, maker of the popular Emergency Drinking Beer, announces its return to distribution in Alabama for the first time since 2011 in March of 2018.

Partnering with Alabama Crown Distributing Co., Wild Heaven will offer its full lineup statewide and is celebrating with tap takeovers in Birmingham, Huntsville, Montgomery, Auburn and Mobile on March 6, 7, 8.

Wild Heaven Beer was founded in 2010 by Nick Purdy, an Auburn University Marketing graduate who also founded the renowned pop culture magazine Paste and Brewmaster Eric Johnson, an Athens, Georgia native, is also known as the host of the successful, long-running PBS show Garden Smart.

In addition to Emergency Drinking Beer, Wild Heaven’s diverse year-round lineup includes Bestie Pub Ale, Wise Blood IPA, White Blackbird Saison, Invocation Belgian Golden Ale and the first canned nitro beer in the Southeast, Ode To Mercy Coffee Brown, known as “Nitrode.”

Wild Heaven, named for the 1990 R.E.M. song “Near Wild Heaven,” has won awards for numerous beers, and in addition to its year-round lineup, will also offer limited edition sour beers, seasonals and limited edition IPAs to Alabama’s craft beer lovers.

Nick Purdy says “We’re incredibly impressed with the quality of beer coming out of Alabama these days and look forward to joining the community as a local-ish offering from your neighbors just to the east. As a former resident of Alabama during my four amazing years at Auburn, I look forward to many excuses to drink beer with the most hospitable Americans I’ve ever encountered.”

“It means a lot to us to cross a state line,” said Brewmaster Eric Johnson. “We know there is well-crafted beer pretty much everywhere and so when we enter a new market, we do so humbly, hoping our take on each style adds something to the conversation. We believe in what we do, and look forward to a chance to share these creations with beer lovers in Alabama.”
