The Fresh District Launch at 2018 Atlanta Jazz Festival

ATLANTA – Vivacious jazz and an amazing crowd will be coming together for the convergence of urban living and smart eating for the launch of The Fresh District! Taking place on Saturday May 26th and Sunday, May 27th at Piedmont Park from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m during this year’s Atlanta Jazz Festival, guests will experience cooking demonstrations taking place between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. and much more. Chosen by the Office of Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms to "freshen up" both the Mayor's VIP tent and the Bud Light VIP tent, The Fresh District, the initiative of Jacob Eye's Delano Massey, is being acclaimed as the “Future of Food”, successfully kicking off during the commencement of the Summer season, Memorial Day Weekend. The event will also feature a green carpet photo opportunity, meet-and-greets with chefs and festival artists, food offered by D.B.A. Barbeque as well as educational information and recipe cards.

Founder and CEO Delano Massey, a retired United States Army Judge Advocate General Corps Warrior, brings his extensive 20 years of experience operating businesses and his intense vision of the importance of Georgia's Food industries to fruition with The Fresh District. Furthermore, Massey has further development plans for his Jacob's Eye to cultivate The Fresh District into an innovative agriculture tourism destination for downtown Atlanta.

By launching the initiative at The Atlanta Jazz Festival, the ideals of The Fresh District will provide delicious local desserts to the Mayor's VIP Tent and cooking demonstrations at the Bud Light VIP Tent, featuring top local chefs and ingredients provided by partners Georgia Pecans, Vidalia Onions, Jaemor Farms, Aglanta and Georgia Grown. "Adding fresh local food from these exciting chefs is a natural addition to the largest free jazz festival in the country," Massey says. Furthermore, attendees will sample morsels by chefs Jernard Wells of The Food Network, Matt Coggins of D.B.A. Barbeque, Tim from Washington High School Culinary Arts, Enita of Mouthfeel Culinary and Mwandisha (Disha) Gaitor of Two Pieces of Toast. The #FutureOfFood is here!

Jacob's Eye is developing The Fresh District, an innovative agriculture tourism destination for downtown Atlanta, planned for 2019, in addition to partnering on initiatives such as Edible Routes to School with the Atlanta Housing Authority and the Feed Me Fashion event which brings Georgia's fiber tech industry together with Georgia student fashion designers for a ground-breaking round table discussion and exciting fashion show.
