Sonesta Gwinnett Place / Grapevine / ArtBar REVIEW
Sonesta is by far my favorite hotel brand. Every visit is more pleasant than the last. A few changes have happened since my last stay. The Subaru of Gwinnett Studio for Business Radio X is now located inside Sonesta. This is so convenient and a step up from where the studio was originally based. Not only are the most innovative digital programs recorded here but guests can take in the peace & tranquility of this compound.
This trip was a little different because I didn't have to rush off to another venue. Everything that I needed was right there. The gift shop supplied any possible retreat need, the lobby kept detox water readily available and room service was one call away. This was officially vacation.
The indoor/outdoor pool was impressive. I haven't seen a design like this before. I didn't even realize that their was an indoor section of the pool until now. The sundeck was appealing but I had one thing in mind. I was beyond thrilled to finally do something here that I never had the opportunity to do before. Take a dip in the whirlpool. How did I miss this all my other stays? I put on my favorite suit and enjoyed my time in the tub. The kids are back to school so there was peace and quiet. I was the only one in the area and I loved every bit of it.
The fitness center is fully equipped. I saw several cardio machines as well as free weights. There is no excuse not to get some fitness in. And to top if off, the fitness center is open 24 hours a day. Wow. I don't see much exercise happening this time around but its good to know.
I like the fact that there are onsight dining options. I don't have to leave the premises if I don't want to. The Grapevine provides a lavish breakfast spread. I love fruit. The fruit on the buffet is the freshest. It paired perfectly with the oatmeal and grits. There was a sweet lady behind the omelette station taking custom orders. There were so many add-ins to choose from. If you're in the mood for cereal there was also a cereal bar as well as a bagel station.
The evening hangout was at the ArtBar. This is the spot that professionals hang out at after work. Its a gastropub that serves up the best signature cocktails, a diverse menu and a relaxing environment to unwind. At night, this is a happening spot! There are enough flatscreen for football season. This is a perfect spot to catch the game.
My room, as always, didn't disappoint. Stepping inside felt like I had just stepped off of a cloud and into heaven. The kingsize bed was made up perfectly, a new bottle of spring water accompanied the ice bin and I had not a worry in the world.
When I'm traveling and there is no Sonesta, I'm a little sad. I know the pride that this staff takes in their work to make sure that every customer returns. If you have not visited a Sonesta brand hotel, you are doing yourself a disservice. After staying with this brand you will look at other hotels differently. I guarantee that. -Ashsaid
