Peppermint Treat by Good Earth ***REVIEW
Mint tea was a staple in my household as a child. If I was sick and was in bed all day, my mom would always make me a warm cup of mint tea. Life was so simple back then. Through the years its became my favorite of all teas. Whenever I go anywhere I am always requesting it. I was intrigued when Good Earth revealed their latest masterpiece. Peppermint Treat.
Weather in Atlanta is temperamental. When its hot, its blazing. And when its cold, its blistering. Jack Frost paid us a visit in early December and has yet to leave. Its the perfect weather for a hot cup.
After hosting a private affair outside of the city, I decided to retire to my suite. I got back and was exhausted. I couldn't sleep so I decided to brew a cup of Peppermint Treat while catching up on Stranger Things. I was not familiar with Good Earth or any of their products. However the description of this blend sold me.
A tea composed of peppermint, white chocolate, pink peppercorns and safflower. Wow. Sounded amazing. Upon opening the canister, I got a whiff of the most intoxicating scents. I hadn't even boiled the water and I knew that this would be superb. I tasted a few white chocolate curls. They were so good. I could literally pick out all the curls one by one. But I wouldn't get the full experience.
Luckily for me, I travel with a very durable tea infuser. I spooned a teaspoon of the tea into the infuser as the water boiled. When the water was ready, I poured it in the mug. The flavors were a harmonious combination of the most ideal aromas. I have never experienced this before with any brand. I could immediately smell the peppermint and pink peppercorn. Those two can never be denied.
Then I let it steep for about 5 minutes. I was really getting caught up in my show but I didn't want cold tea. The box says it can be prepared cold but I'm a fan of hot tea. I needed something that would warm me up from the inside. Finally it was the moment of truth. I held the mug under my nose and inhaled. The blend was even more exhilarating in hot water. I took a sip and childhood memories flooded back to me. This reminded me of how my mom used to prepare mint tea for me as a child.
It was incredible! The flavors were in perfect harmony. I could even taste accents of the white chocolate and safflower. When that first batch was done, it was officially time for round two.
If you like mint tea, you will absolutely fall in love with this blend. Its unique, sassy and splendid any time of the year. I can't even look at the other brands after tasting this dream come true.
