The Chattanoogan Hotel Is Marvelous!
If you're looking for a weekend getaway, you can't go wrong with Chattanooga. From the gorgeous mountain sides, gourmet eateries and their beautiful aquarium it is an oasis of tranquility. There are many lodging options available. The Chattanoogan is the only hotel I consider while there. This luxury brand is unlike any that I have ever visited.
Director of marketing Bob Dorr greeted me upon checkin. We discussed Chattanooga's civil war history and how it is themed throughout the property. The exquisite fireplace, the awning and furniture paid tribute to the past. The first thing I noticed was that the hallways were curved. This was no accident. This feature honors this great city's waterways.
Security at this property is their top priority. While traveling solo, it is always a good idea to keep your eyes peeled. Guests are not permitted on floors without a valid room card. The elevators won't go anywhere without at tap from the card and a green light for confirmation. This put my mind at ease as safety is important.
I was absolutely blown away when I entered my guest room. It felt like I had walked onto a cloud in heaven. The room had a fresh scent and every surface was immaculate. I checked. The bathroom was phenomenal. The flat screen television was ready and waiting.
This area is not the typical downtown location. Its clean, full of thriving businesses and most of all calm. I love Atlanta. I've lived here most of my life. I've gotten used to the hustle and bustle. In Chattanooga everything is at a slower pace. I love that. There are so many attractions to get into that are actually walking distance. I kept asking management when the traffic would finally hit. They laughed and said there is none. This is how it is all the time.
Even though I didn't get to delve into town, the hotel had a lot to offer. Broad Street Grille, located inside the hotel, had quite the spread. I made it in time for Sunday Brunch and I am so glad that I did. There were so many choices. There was fresh fruit, an omelet station and even a dessert bar. My all-time favorite was the sea salt caramel bread pudding. I am ashamed to mention that I made several trips to the buffet just for that specialty. It was warm with just the right amount of sweet/salty. Just positively delicious.
I briefly spoke with another guest about the spa. This newlywed insisted that I make my appointment ASAP. It would be the best decision of my weekend. Though my trip was brief it left me yearning for a longer stay. I was passing through for business and did not have time to explore the city. I didn't have the opportunity to visit their most prized possession. The Tennessee Aquarium. It was just down the street. Time commitments prohibited that.
I am over the moon about my stay at the Chattanoogan Hotel. The staff was so kind and I really got to take in the beauty of being downtown Chattanooga. If you are ever near this wonderful town, check in to The Chattanoogan. They take the stress out of your trip and you will forget your worries. Why should you stay at The Chattanoogan? Because Ash Said It! #ashsaidit
