NEW GRAMMYS' SURVEY DATA: WHY WILL THE MILLENNIAL CROWD BE TUNING IN?
With the Grammy Awards coming up on Sunday, Feb. 10th, The Meet Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:MEET) has some insights to share into what about this highly anticipated event has the millennial crowd most excited to tune in.
The Meet Group’s social entertainment apps (MeetMe®, LOVOO®, Skout®, and Tagged®) help nearly 5 million people (ages 18-35) connect – and also gives us the ability to provide you with brand, new survey findings from this cohort on what they find most intriguing about one of the music industry’s premier events of the year. 2019 Key Grammys’ Survey Findings:
HOSTESS WITH THE MOSTEST? Alicia Keys’ shared a video showing that her kids were unimpressed by the fact that she will be hosting the Grammys this year. This video has gone viral.
However, close to 1/3 of our survey respondents (31.6%) said that they are excited that she will be hosting and reported, “Yes, this girl is on fire!” in response to her serving as the show’s host.
WHY DO VIEWERS TUNE IN? More than 1/4 (26.0%) of the survey respondents reported that the performances were what they enjoy most about watching the Grammys.
FAVORITE AWARD CATEGORIES:
Over a quarter (25.4%) of survey respondents reported that their favorite award category at the Grammys is “Best New Artist”
“Album of the Year” was a close second favorite category with 23.4% of respondents making this selection.
MOST ANTICIPATED PERFORMANCES: When asked which of the top artists of the year they are most excited about watching perform?
Post Malone took the top spot with approx. 20%, followed VERY closely by Cardi B with 18.6%
