POSTPONED: 2020 Fight For Air Climb in Atlanta

The American Lung Association Fight for Air Climb in Atlanta at 191 Peachtree Tower scheduled for April 18, has been postponed until public health concerns around the coronavirus (COVID-19) subside.

While the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) still considers the immediate health risk to the American general public to be low, the CDC recently advised that special reconsideration should be given to large events involving vulnerable populations, such as those with lung diseases.

“The health and well-being of Lung Association event participants, volunteers, staff and partners is our top priority. We are especially sensitive to the health of those with lung disease who may have planned to attend our Climb," said Rochelle Smalls, Executive Director of the American Lung Association in Georgia.

“This decision was made after much deliberation with our Fight for Air Climb host sponsors. Our sponsors have assured us that they remain committed to the Fight For Air Climb, and we look forward to when we can bring our community together in support of the American Lung Association’s lifesaving education, advocacy and research. "The American Lung Association urges the public to follow the latest updates from and guidance given by the CDC on all COVID-19 related issues,” Smalls concluded.
