Carabao Finds a Permanent Home in Napa Valley, Opening June 2025

After years of building a devoted following through unforgettable pop-ups, private dinners, and elevated catering experiences, Carabao is proud to announce the opening of its first permanent location in June 2025 at 145 C Gasser Drive in Napa, California.



Led by Chef Jade Cunningham, in partnership with her husband, Mathew Cunningham, and Eric and Amaparo Gonzales (Amparo & Eric F. Gonzales Family Fund), Carabao is a modern Filipino concept rooted in tradition, seasonality, and community. Known for bold, soulful flavors and an unwavering sense of hospitality, the brand has become a standout in the region's evolving culinary scene.



Born and raised in the Philippines, Chef Jade Cunningham began learning about cooking at the age of 7, helping her aunty's eatery in Bulacan by cutting vegetables during summer breaks and began cooking for her siblings at the age of 12. After studying Hotel and Restaurant Management in college, she moved to the United States for a culinary internship at The Meritage Resort in Napa, where she was introduced to the richness of Northern California’s seasonal produce and French- and Italian-inspired culinary techniques.



Chef Jade later joined the acclaimed team at The French Laundry, where she refined her skills at one of the world’s most prestigious kitchens. Inspired by that experience and her cultural heritage, she set out to build something of her own—a place where tradition meets innovation, and every dish tells a story.



"Carabao is more than a restaurant—it’s a tribute to my roots and hard-working Filipinos who inspired me," says Chef Jade. "It's where we share the bold and authentic Flavors of the Philippines with the world."



The new space will offer a unique dining experience, designed to reflect the warmth and vibrance of Filipino hospitality. Guests can expect a menu that honors familiar flavors—reimagined with refined technique, local ingredients, and deep intention.
