Celebrate One Last Summer Fling At Shops Around Lenox's Pop-Up Gallery



Known for being one of Atlanta’s largest art-buying communities, Buckhead is home to a variety of art appreciation events, including at Shops Around Lenox. The new summer pop-up gallery series has taken place all summer long, and this weekend is one of their last summer flings. On Saturday, July 24th from, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., visitors can celebrate and purchase works from an array of local artists, listen to live music by pianist Yana Sbraccia, enjoy delicious cocktails, bites, and more. Art enthusiasts who can’t make it this weekend or don’t want the fun to end can also attend the last summer pop-up event on August 7th and 21st. Shops Around Lenox’s Pop-Up Gallery is free to attend and all ages are welcome. Check out the featured artists for this weekend below:


Tarlan Steffon Thomas works with mixed mediums and includes acrylics, charcoal, graphite, compressed charcoal, and watercolors. He employs these various mediums to express his multifaceted artistic interests. His body of works comprises non-objective and abstract art. Strong strokes, bold colors and gestural paintings infusing shapes, patterns and space in compelling and interesting ways. The effects create contemplative movement and reflective emotion, which are his hallmarks.


Sharmila Ghose Roy is an artist, architect and mother of 2 girls. Her works are primarily in oils

and she describes her style as modern impressionism, exploring various subject matters like landscapes, florals, boats and figures. She is always trying to capture movement, emotion and light in all my works.


Chris Hamer describes himself as a dude from Georgia whose brain is active 24/7. His art pieces are a great representation of how his brain works, and then translated onto his canvases. You can call him Chris or Urbnpop.


Melissa Ewing is an Atlanta area lawyer who enjoys abstract painting as an outlet for creative expression and experimentation. Most recently, her style has focused on fluid art with an emphasis on bold colors and abstract patterns inspired by water, sunsets and flowers


Kelley M. Frank is an Atlanta-based artist creating paintings using traditional and digital media; traditional paintings are comprised of acrylic, watercolor, water-based ink, resin, and/or alcohol ink. Her style tends toward the dark and gothic but with a strong affinity for occult, intersectional feminist, and existential themes with strong influences from illustrative and abstract art traditions.


Donna Barnhard, In her art, as well as her life, Donna looks for a dynamic harmony between comfortable patterns and challenging lines. Creating movement between stable geometric shapes and changing organic forms helps her truly appreciate the comfort of the familiar and the adventure of the unknown.


Alfred Addo is an Atlanta based artist originally from the West African country of Ghana. A multidisciplinary artist who has exhibited and collected internationally. He specializes in relief sculpture and mixed media paintings. Has a unique medium of recycling sawdust and recycled waste plastics to create his pieces.
