Herbed Shepherd’s Pie

Ingredients:For the Potatoes:

• 2.5 lbs. russet potatoes peeled and cubed.

• 4 Dorot Gardens Cilantro cubes

• 4 Dorot Gardens Basil cubes

• 6 tbsp melted butter

• 1 cup milk

• 2 egg yolks

• Kosher salt

For Meat Filling:

• 2 tbsp butter

• 10 oz frozen vegetable medley (onions, carrots, celery)

• 1 lb. ground beef

• 3 Dorot Gardens Parsley cubes

• 3 Dorot Gardens Garlic cubes

• 2 tbsp tomato paste

• 2 tbsp flour

• 1½ cups beef stock

• 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

• 1 cup frozen peas and carrots

Directions:

1. Boil potatoes until tender (about 10 minutes). Drain and mash with Dorot Gardens® cubes, butter, milk, egg yolks, and salt.

2. Preheat broiler with the rack 5–6 inches from heat.

3. In an oven-safe pan, melt butter and sauté vegetables until softened. Add ground beef and cook thoroughly.

4. Stir in Dorot Gardens® herbs, tomato paste, flour, beef stock, Worcestershire sauce, and salt. Simmer until thickened.

5. Fold in peas and carrots. Spread the mashed potatoes on top, making ridges with a fork.

6. Broil until golden brown, 5–10 minutes. Serve warm.

2. Carefully whisk in butter and cream (wear gloves to avoid steam burns).

4. Serve warm over desserts or refrigerate and reheat before serving.
