SECOND ANNUAL DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS FESTIVAL RETURNS TO ROSWELL, GA



Celebrating the Day of the Dead With Live Entertainment, a Tequila and Margarita Tasting, Costume Contest and Much More


Saturday, October 30, 2021 From 2p.m to 8 p.m.


Atlanta, Georgia - Día de los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead, is centered around the remembrance of lost loved ones, bringing families, friends and communities together to celebrate their memory. In honor of the tradition, the City of Roswell, in partnership with Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces, is hosting the second annual Día de los Muertos festival Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the grounds of Roswell City Hall. Open to all the ages and free to attend, the festival will be a lively afternoon and evening filled with fun, community spirit, food, beverages, live entertainment and much more.


Additionally, guests are invited to don their best Day of the Dead costumes and get candy sugar skull face paintings. At 5 p.m., there will be a Catrina and Catrin costume contest where winners will receive cash prizes. The festival will also have street performers, Aztec dancers, and a mariachi band on hand. For attendees wanting to participate in the more serious side of Día de los Muertos, there will be an authentic Ofrenda, an altar honoring friends and family that have passed. Bring a photo or a small memento of a loved one to place at the altar. The festival will also boast an array of Mexican cuisine, including tamales, empanadas, and more. For those ages 21 and up, a tequila and margarita tasting experience showcasing the unique flavors Mexico will be available. For $35, festival goers will receive eight tokens that can be used to taste any combination of six different types of specialty margaritas and four different types of tequila.
